You benefit by trusting in our experience when selling your collection to all-originals
Selling a stamp collection to all-originals is a trustworthy easy hassle free way to sell and raise cash. Call us today and talk to our expert. Call Keith Ridley Mobile 07747020513.
Selling your stamps or stamp collection is always going to be a difficult decision, after all you have been together for as many years as you have been collecting stamps. Whether you are downsizing or need to raise some extra cash for that special occasion or you simply need to raise money. The quickest way is to turn to a stamp dealer rather than a stamp auction. A dealer will pay cash, whearas a stamp auction can take at least 2 months before you gwill be paid, but also please remember there is commission to pay plus VAT. (Between 5 and 15% plus VAT, most will charge 15%)
There are 3 main ways to sell your stamps, or stamp collection or large accumulation of philatelic material.
Stamp Dealer. By far the best and easiest way is to sell to a stamp dealer who will in most cases make a reasonable offer and pay cash on the spot. If you need to raise cash, then this is the best option.
At Auction. This may take a few months before you are eventually paid. This is because to enter a lot you will need to meet the cut-off point at which the auction catalogue is compiled for the next sale.
When the sale is completed the payment is usually made a month later to allow payment and other issues regarding lots, etc. After which there will be commission to pay which can be as low as 5% or as much as 15% (most auctions charge 15%) plus VAT. i.e. if a lot sold for £1000.00, the commission will be £150 plus VAT @ 20% giving a total commission fee of £180. off the hammer price. Leaving you with £820.00.
Local general auction. Selling your stamps at a local or general auction is not an option I recommend. As an experiment last week I entered a box lot of mainly GB material (loose first day covers, glassines of used stamps album pages and stockcards, overall a few 1000 items.) mainly junk. If I had sold them on eBay perhaps they may have sold for £5. In the general auction they fetched £5 and I have to pay commission on this. So you see putting stamps in specialised collectors or stamp auction is far better. Though I still say selling to a local dealer is better still as you are paid on the spot.
eBay. You also can sell them on eBay, again there is commission to pay, approx. 15% (fees may vary depending on what type of eBay account you are using) including any paypal charges, plus the time it will take to list and despatch the lots. This is often not as much as realised at auction, plus your item has to be marketed correctly with perfect pictures and an accurate description plus you must offer reasonable postage/shipping charges. ebay is without doubt the best online auction site, but you really need to know the basics before starting to trade successfully. I have many year's experience of selling on eBay and can offer advice if you need it. Give me a call anytime between 8pm and 8pm at night, and I will try to answer your enquiries.
If you want to sell your stamps, then selling your stamp collection is easy.
Try all-originals where you can sell all your stamps and collections with confidence to a trustworthy collectables dealer, so why not turn them into cash. And call us today, Call and speak to Andrew for stamps, coins, cigarette cards, postcards, medals, etc. Or speak to Keith about all models and larger collectables. call 02476 338641 or mobile 07747020513
So to sum up, where to sell your stamps is extremeley important, to get the right price. (a true and honest stamp valuation) I recommend you go to a stamp dealer.
Many stamp collections are inherited or left behind by family members, and often to someone who knows little or nothing about stamps or their true value. This can be quite daunting, because if you want to sell them, where do you go? Will I get a true valuation or led down the garden path. With all-originals you will hand on heart be told a true valuation. No cherry picking. Collections are bought as a whole lot.
It is worth noting that most single album lots are general world collections and usually not worth a huge amount. Though single country albums are usually much better and can be more valuable Valuing your stamps is a short process, and usually takes about half an hour to the trained philatelist. Unless there are individual stamps of note.
Or if you have recently turned down an offer from another top auction house or stamp dealer, e.g.. Stanley Gibbons, Warwick & Warwick, Tony Lester, Spink, Cavendish, Harmers, Alliance, or any other top dealer, then talk to us and we will try our very best to beat any written offer. Cash will be paid, and no commission nor delayed payments made.
We buy and sell postage stamps and stamp collections. So why not sell your stamp collection for the best price with all-originals.
Kiloware wanted. We will pay £5 a kilo for genuine unpicked, and not
sorted, on paper GB British kiloware stamps (only GB not general world).
Kiloware is as it suggests on-paper GB modern decimal stamps torn off GB commercial mail and with one kilo in weight
